Thanks to generous donations from our supporters, each El Nido residential youth received five personalized gifts, festive Christmas stockings, and $50 Target gift cards, while 130 young adults in Sycamores’ Independent Transitional Living Program received $50 Target gift cards, journals, a pen, and an inspirational bookmark. The Holiday of Wishes campaign exceeded our goals, enabling us to provide enriching activities for El Nido youth during the holidays. We are truly grateful for your generosity and for helping make the holidays brighter for these deserving youth and young adults.
Los Altos Auxiliary has supported at-risk youth in both the foster care and mental health systems for over 66 years. This year, as in years past, we were dedicated to spreading holiday cheer to both the youth at Sycamores’ El Nido residential campus and the young adults in Sycamores’ Transitional Aged Youth Program. The El Nido group residential campus in Altadena is a welcoming environment that offers intervention and care for dependent or neglected youth ages 11–18. The Transitional Aged Youth Program assists young adults ages 18–26 who are transitioning out of the foster care system in leading productive, independent lives.
