The mission of Los Altos Auxiliary is to help meet the needs of youth living at the El Nido residential campus of Sycamores through various fundraising activities and volunteering on campus.  As strong advocates of libraries, academic and arts programs, sports, field trips, therapeutic workshops, and similar activities and services, Los Altos members decide where the funds we raise will be spent. We believe that by improving young people’s mental, physical, and social health, they can become valued members of our community.

Membership Requirements and Information

  • Active and New Members are required to attend six general meetings per year.  Professional Members are encouraged to attend as many meetings as they can.  We do not meet in June, July, August or December.  

  • Unless otherwise specified due to holidays, General Meetings are usually held on the fourth Wednesday morning of each month at the El Nido Campus, 2933 El Nido Drive, Altadena. 

  • Active and New Members are required to participate on one standing committee (Bylaws, Direct Services, Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Services, Social, Membership or Birthday Cupcakes).  All members are expected and encouraged to assist with and attend any fundraisers, including the Fall “Holiday of Wishes” campaign and the Spring fundraising event. 

  • Members are required to pay annual dues of $100 collected in August/September, and may opt to support additionally through various opportunities throughout the year. 

  • Members are required to contribute $250 for Spring Fundraising annually and receive two complimentary tickets during years when we hold the event (every other year).

  • During the year, you will be given the option to support additional activities for the residents at the El Nido campus and TAY programs such as contributing Easter goodies, donating to and/or wrapping gifts as part of our “Holiday of Wishes” for the youth and attending various events while volunteering your time. 

  • We have member social events that are optional events--but so fun, you’ll want to attend!
